Every year, for nearly 15 years now, Abalone renews its partnership with the Polyjoule association. For us, supporting Polyjoule is a continuation of our CSR policy, a major concern of the company.

Abalone Polyjoule partnership

This Nantes association brings together students from two complementary sectors around the same project: the Polytech Nantes engineering school, and an Internal Combustion Engine BTS section of the La Joliverie high school (Saint-Sébastien sur Loire, 44). The latter, supported by their teachers, gather and pool their knowledge and skills in order to design, produce and optimize a prototype vehicle, with the aim of participating in energy races and promote soft mobility.

The principle of these races is to cover the maximum number of kilometers at a minimum average speed of 30 km/h while consuming as little energy as possible. At present, in their respective category, the vehicles currently hold the world record ! Cityjoule is indeed one of the most aerodynamic vehicles ever designed, it has traveled more than 1300km on the equivalent of 1L of gasoline!

In 2022, Abalone supports the Polyjoule association and La Jol'Toujours (association of former students of La Joliverie) in the realization and organization of the 1st edition EcoGreen Gas Pays de la Loire Challenge. France will be able to reconnect with races with lower fuel consumption, 35 years later! If the years 2019 and 2020 were devoid of any international competition, the time has come to relaunch the machine in our region and to promote two promising energy sectors for low-carbon mobility: the biomethane sector and the hydrogen sector.

Initially scheduled for May 2021, the EcoGreen Gas Challenge has been postponed to May 18 and 19, 2022.
