Which sectors are now affected by flexi-jobs? Previously reserved for the Horeca sector in order, in particular, to combat undeclared work. they were extended for the first time in 2018 to retail, hairdressing, beauty care and bakeries. Then, in 2023, the extension of flexi-jobs was formalized in the Belgian government's energy sobriety plan. Finally, in 2024, new professions will also be eligible for flexi-jobs.
In which professions can I have a flexi-job?
To date, the sectors concerned by flexi-jobs are the following:Hotels and Restaurants (hotels, restaurants and cafes), Trade (sales, distribution, etc.), Beauty and Hairdressing, Bakery, Cinema and Health care.
In 2024, the new sectors in which it will be possible to have a flexi-job will include the professions of Agriculture, Events, Real Estate, Teaching, Sport, Childcare and Culture (in the public domain). This therefore opens up a new field of possibilities for people wishing to obtain additional income.

What is a flexi job?
According to The Forum, "flexi-job is a form of employment, which allows you, as a worker already working for one or more employer(s) for at least 4/5 time, to benefit from additional income in certain sectors."
Flexi-jobs offer advantageous conditions to workers. The net salary of the flexi-job is equal to the gross. You pay neither personal contributions nor professional withholding tax and you do not have to declare your flexi-job in your tax return. On the other hand, you have the same social rights than other contracts: legal leave, pension, unemployment benefit, etc.
Finally, pensioners can also find a flexi-job under certain conditions.
What salary in flexi-job?
A social minimum wage also exists in flexi-job, it is set at 11,81 € per hour, flexi-holiday pay included.
An exception is made for the Health and Care sector where the minimum wage is higher: 15,39€/hour.
